Winston was well known for his sports, baseball, hockey and golf as a young boy and a teenager he built his own 9 hole par 3 in his backyard. He was a stickler for the rule book in every sport he loved. He also knew every baseball player from the beginning, every hockey player from the original 6, and golfers right from the Bobby Jones to his hero Tiger Woods.
He was also an umpire for baseball for years, well known infamous referee for the Saturday hockey league (the Hackers), if you were a player on the ice and seen his finger pointed at you and his arms crossed you were in big trouble.

Winston made friends everywhere he went, and will be remembered by everyone, he was a comedian, a jokester and the greatest storyteller of our history, culture and traditions. He shared his stories with everyone, the Eastern Door, Iori:wase, and he did the research by himself.

I only knew Winston for the past few years particularly at the St.Kateri Shrine. He loved to tell me about Kahnawake history and his personal remembrances, very entertaining. I will miss his happy outlook and friendly demeanor.
