Surrounded by her family, on June 29, 2025 at the age of 88 years, passed away Ida Kawenihe Montour.
She is survived by her children Lydia (Vincent), Barry (Gail), Shawn (Stacey), Lisa and Timmy, her grandchildren Derrick, Callie, Nick, Randy, Caralee, Kyle, Elaina, Finnley, Bailey, Courtney, Hayden, Jerron and Alicia, her 17 great-grandchildren, her loving siblings Kakaiόnstha and Walter (Wanda), as well as extended family and friends.

She will be lay out on Thursday July 3, 2025 from 3h pm, on Friday July 4, from 10h am and Saturday July 5, from 10h am following by the funeral at 2h pm at St-Francis-Xavier Mission.
Your expressions of sympathy can be expressed through donations to KMHC Inpatient departments.
The family would like to thank KMHC for their excellent care of our beloved mother.

My deepest condolences go out to Kakaionstha and to all of Ida’s family members. I cherish my memories of the adventures I had with Ida and Kakaionstha. I wish Ida so much joy and happiness up in SkyWorld.

I first met Ida many years ago when she was a secretary in the in-patient department at Kateri hospital. She was kind to me and had a great sense of humour. We took many bus rides together after an afternoon in the daycentre, before the hospital was renovated. Her last years were a struggle, and I was thankful to.see the excellent care she received at Kateri Hospital. God bless the nurses and staff who cared for her. Nia:wen and my condolences to her family.
