ROBINSON
Ruth Jean Glew passed away at midnight on February 9.
Born in the village of Chorley, Lancashire in 1931, she was an accomplished physiotherapist, a loving mother and grandmother. After studying in Great Britain Jean Robinson emigrated to Montreal in the 1959 where she met and married Bill Glew. They raised three children, Andrew, Amanda and Simon in St Lambert. Jean was instrumental in setting up the pioneering French immersion program for English school boards on the South Shore, as well as instituting Senior Fitness classes. After moving to Hudson the early 80’s Jean became an active member of the community, helping to spearhead the creation of the Village Theatre project. She loved being active, winter was for skiing while summer brought tennis and hiking. Jean was a welcoming host and the family home was open to friends and family alike with dinner parties and holiday celebration always on the bill. The family home always had place for dogs who were loved and spoiled.
She is survived by Andrew (Rhonda), Amanda (Stewart) and Simon (Danielle). Grandchildren Eva, Caili, Timothy, Helen, Tristan, Calum and Devan mourn the loss of their Grammy. A celebration of life will be held in May.
