JACOBS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Robert “Punkin” Jacobs on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the age of sixty-three years at the Kateri Memorial Hospital in Kahnawake. He was born November 5th, 1959, in Kahnawake and was predeceased by his parents Verna Phillips and James ‘Beteken’ Jacobs.
Punkin leaves behind his brothers: Jimmy (Dawn), Bryan (Darlene), and Gary and his nieces and nephews: Tsowente (Corvell), Wahiio (Kayla), Konwatharani, Kwaronhienhawi (Curtis), Shatere (Christine), Raiewate (Kate), Dawn, Quinn (Shyann), Ryan (Thea). He was loved by his great nieces, nephews and many cousins. He will always be remembered for his humor by his friends and his Moose family.
According to his wishes, there will be no visitation and the burial of his ashes will be celebrated in the privacy of his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tetewatati’tatéhnhahas would be appreciated.
Special Niawen to the Palliative Care staff at the Kateri Memorial Hospital; Kristin, Miriam, Shelley, Monir, Lisa, Linda, Susie, Iga, Amanda, Shonna and Sue Ann for the excellent care and compassion they have provided to Punkin and his family. Also, thank you to his home-care nurses Olivier and Zari, who took such great care of our brother over the past years.
