With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on February 20, 2025, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Roseanne (Jacobs) Thomas, as well as six sisters, two brothers, and his great-granddaughter, Sophia.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Marsha (Mayo), along with their three children: Peter (Jody), Tessa (Peter), and Rodney (Anthony). He is also mourned by his 10 grandchildren: Bradley (Sheryll), Kelsey, Skye (Wilton), Amber, Thea (Vince), Cortland (Olivia), Jayden, Kole, Torrance (Skyler), and Kassidy, as well as 14 great-grandchildren: Ava-Marie, Carmelo, Brant, Atonhwentsi:ne, Rory, Brayan, Holden, Hayes, Ionkiia’tahniratstha, Hunter, Emery, Bradley Girl, Vyla, and Slade.
He is also survived by his four sisters, three sisters-in-laws, and two brother-in-laws, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was a cherished uncle to Michael, Darlene, and Diane, and a dear friend to Ida, Linda, Brant and Stephen.
A first language speaker, he dedicated over 25 years of service to Kahnawake Peacekeepers, volunteered for many years as Conservation Officer, and lent a helping hand to the Kahnawake Fire Brigade. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Kateri Memorial Foundation, Kahnawake Fire Brigade, or the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
The family are receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, starting at 1 pm followed by a ceremony on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 1 pm in St-Francis Xavier Mission church.
We would like to send our gratitude to the Kahnawake Peacekeepers Team D and Team E, and the Kahnawake Fire Brigade for their quick response and efforts, and to Peter Jacobs for his unwavering assistance. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Kateri Memorial Foundation, Kahnawake Fire Brigade, or the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
