Poissant and Deer, Kahnawake
It is with great sadness that the family of ANDREW SAWENTANEN MONTOUR announce his sudden passing, “to a better home that waits in the sky”, on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 88.
Our beloved Rakeni loved his bluegrass music, playing his mandolin, guitar, fiddle and dobro. His musical talent was heard and shared with many, traveling with Ista to bluegrass festivals near and far meeting with fellow musicians and fans. He enjoyed woodworking, making things, his bird life by the window, teasing the neighborhood squirrels and helping those in need.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Dorothy, Mary (Chester), Nadine (Jeffrey), Becky (Jimmy), Tyler (Melissa), and Ryan.
Grandchildren: Skyler (Brianna), Jonas, Hogan (Karonhiokewas), Jerry (Felicia), Anerahtontha (Sarah), Tewennitaneken, Charlie, and Sarah (Katsenhiio)
Great Grandchildren: Raienteri, Greyson, Ahwentsiio, Legend, Lincoln, Creed, Forest, Reed, and Maizie.
