Joseph Tekaroniake “Dega” Lazare Passed away surrounded by his Lazare and Sky families, as well as many friends, at the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center at the age of 40.
He leaves behind his Dear mother Esther (David), his father Peter (Michelle), loving brother Nicholas and his Niece and Nephews that he adored, Tehotsenhathe, Cedar and Rohontsaien:ton. Dega also leaves behind many Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Friends that will miss him deeply and remember him fondly. Dega was an inspiration to many. He could make you laugh in an instant and could change the energy of a room, just from his presence. He was a filmmaker, an actor, a comedian but most importantly, he was a kind man. Dega cared about so many people and would never talk of himself, rather about how your life was going. One of his greatest joys, other than making people laugh and being with his family, was his love of the band “Korn” and their music. He truly was an artist, and his many films and TV shows that he created will last forever, as his impression on this world will last forever in our hearts.
The family will accept visitors on Wednesday January 22nd (2:00 pm) at the Poissant and Deer Funeral Home with a service to follow at the Saint Francois Xavier Mission on Friday January 24th at 1:00pm.
In Lieu of Flowers, please donate to the Turtle Island Theatre Company, as this was one of his final wishes. Ha:hon’se.
