Once I was looking for employment. Gary asked me if I wanted to learn tree work. I said yes. I became a ground man using chain saws and chippers. I helped trim trees for a few years in Kahnawake, Montreal, and all summer in Akwesasne. It was fun. Thanks Gary.

I offer my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all of his family, friends, and acquaintances both near and far. Gary was an extraordinary man, much respected here and abroad, I had great respect and admiration for him. I always felt welcome when visiting at his home in earlier times. He will be missed to be sure and remembered for many years to come. Now he is with our ancestors and our creator. Niawen kowa.
