Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Delormier family announces the passing of Mr. Wayne Peter Delormier.  Wayne died peacefully on October 4, 2023 in the Long Term Care Unit of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center.

Born in Kahnawà:ke November 8, 1939, and a residential school surviver, Wayne made every minute count.  “They don’t make ‘em like that anymore” is a phrase often heard when referring to Wayne.  He was ‘old school’ and he worked hard his entire life for his family.  He loved working.  And, when not working, he loved golf, the Canadiens … and his garage, which is where you could commonly find him most early mornings, ready and willing to tell the million and one stories he had about his life.  He will be missed.

He is predeceased by his parents:  Muriel Splicer and Peter Delormier, and his brothers; Marvin Delormier, Winston Delormier, Donny, Delormier Johnny Delormier, and Gregory Angus.

He leaves behind his brothers Donald Angus, Calvin Angus and Sister Lenore Angus, his long time love and partner Kaiatitákhe Annette Jacobs, and his six children; Allison, Peter, Brian, Linda (Adam), Tracey (Jamie) and Wayne (Sherrie), and their mother, Lorna Horne, along with 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the KMHC Short Term and LongTerm Care Units.  Through their loving care and respect, he was able to maintain the highest quality of life and level of dignity as age and health challenges overtook him.

The family is receiving relatives and friends from 4:30 pm on Friday, October 6^th. Funeral Services on Sunday October 8th at 1pm.  Burial at Catholic Cemetery.
