Obituary
Patrick
NOLAN
On August 1, 2025, Pat Atsaktátie Nolan peacefully began his journey back to Sky World while surrounded by his loving family. Pat was seventy-eight years old and a proud member of the Mohawk Nation, Wolf Clan, and Kanien’kéha speaker. He will be joining his siblings who predeceased him, Rusty, Randy, and Denise.
Pat was very passionate about his family and leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-six years, Carol Lazare and their children Louise (Thomas), Pat Jr (Cheryl Ann) and Christine (Cory), his grandchildren, Mark (Eva), Cheryl, Matty (Shakira), Daniel (Jade), Joshua, Perri-Lee, Nolan, Cameron, Cheyenne (Oran), Samantha and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ranonhkwatsheríio and Rahontsawaks. He also leaves behind his sister Kathleen (Cindy), Debra who resides in Arizona, and, as well as many other friends and relatives on both sides of the border.
He was known as Bubba Pat to all because he had the knack of inclusion and making anyone part of his family. Knowing Pat meant you never went hungry and always had a place to sleep. Countless friends would always stop by for a visit, speak Kanien’kéha or see what hobbies he had picked up next, there was never a dull moment with Pat.
Pat’s family would like to thank his Homecare Nurse Oliver who would laugh at his same jokes that he told him too many times, Tim for the many private concerts, Nick, Dooa, Shannon, and the entire staff on LTC 1 that made his last days so much easier. As for Rose Ann, our family wants to say nia:wenkowa for going above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable right up to the end.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, August 4, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Poissant and Deer Funeral Home located in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake.
Final words will be spoken on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and then followed to the crematorium, as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre Long Term Care Unit 1 Staff team building fund.
