It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She passed away suddenly on March 16, 2025, at the Pierre Boucher Hospital in Longueuil. Monique was 93 years and 10 months old. She was the wife of late René Morrissette of Laprairie.
She is survived by her children: Louise (Jean-Pierre), Jacques (Chantal), Johanne (Yvan), Carole (Chuck), and Guylaine (François). Her grandchildren: Marc-André, Mélissa (Martin), Andrée-Anne (Germain), Marie-Noëlle (Josette), Jean-Philippe, Gabrielle (Marc-André), Amélie, Vincent (Carolanne), Émie, and Adam. Her great-grandchildren: Amélya, Jolianne, Sarah-Maude, Laurent, Abygaëlle, Louanne, Béatrice, Antoine, Matteo, Chloé, Louis and the youngest on the way, Lionel. She also leaves behind her sister Estelle, her two nephews Roger (Guylaine) and Normand (Johanne) as well as many relatives and friends.
The family will receive your condolences on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin located at 155, chemin de St-Jean in Laprairie. A religious celebration with the ashes will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the same location.
Monique meant a lot to many people throughout her life. Her zest for life, her positivity, and her strength of character were legendary. To share her memory, the family will welcome you for a snack after the ceremony.
The private burial will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Laprairie Cemetery, where she will rest alongside her husband.
