Obituary

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Marie-Andrée L’Écuyer chose to leave peacefully, surrounded by the love and kindness of her family. She passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Anna-Laberge Hospital, at the age of 54.

Strong and courageous until the very end, she leaves behind the memory of a woman who faced her illness with dignity, determination, and serenity.

She leaves to mourn her two beloved adult children, her daughter Élodie (Guillaume) and her son Simon (Isadora); her parents, Mr. André L’Écuyer and Mrs. Françoise Rémillard; her brother, Jean-François (Annie); as well as her cousins, aunts and uncles, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will hold a ceremony in memory of Mrs. L’Écuyer at a later date.

The family wishes to warmly thank all the healthcare staff at the CHUM in Montreal, as well as those at Anna-Laberge Hospital in Châteauguay, for the care and support provided. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Ruo Chen Zhang for her gentleness, compassion, and caring presence.

Expressions of sympathy may be made through a donation to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

Her passing leaves an immense void in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

She will forever remain present in our hearts and memories.
