It is with immense sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Mr. Gilbert Derome, who died in a fire on February 1, 2026, in Longueuil.
He joins his parents, Mr. Germain Derome and Mrs. Estelle Rémillard, as well as his brother Réjean.
He leaves to mourn his beloved sons, Alex (Éléonore) and Joé (Maxim), his sister Nathalie (Alain), the mother of his children, Johanne, his nephews David, Simon (Romy), and Félix (Méghan), his cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
Gilbert, a true motor enthusiast and bon vivant, lived life to the fullest. His passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive condolences in Salon A of the funeral home on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30p.m.
The funeral service will be held the same day at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in La Prairie, located at 145 Saint-Jean Road, La Prairie.
Interment will take place the same day at 3:00 p.m. at the Saint-Mathieu-de-La Prairie Cemetery.
The family wishes to sincerely thank all those who will attend this final tribute and who will offer their support through their presence or thoughts.
