From Kahnawake, after a lenghthy illness and a courageous battle,Florena Phillips passed away on Sunday May 13, 2012, her beloved daughter and family by her side. Devoted mother of Mia (Dennis), proud grandmother of four : Jake, Kahente, Rachel and Audrey-Rose, adoring great-grandmother of Rotehrhata:se. Predeceased by her father Alfred, brother Joe and sister Darlene. She leaves behind her mother Doris, sister Georgina (Edward), nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten her life long friend and cousin Deanna and her longtime companion Jim. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr Bruemmer for his compassionate care , the home care nurses for their commitment and a special thank to Janice Saylor for her compassion, support and dedication, and to her niece Kanenrahtenhawi for her care. They also would like to thank the staff at Kateri Memorial Hospital for their care.
